Tequila Works is looking for an experienced and highly creative passionate Animator. The successful candidate will be involved helping the team achieve the challenge of quality in our current games. He or she will also be expected to play a critical role in setting best technical practices for the development of our tools, pipelines and systems.

We are based in Madrid, but currently working remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high quality animations
  • Animate both primary and secondary characters as well as any other props needed
  • Iterate on these motions to create compelling, entertaining, and visually appealing game-play and/or cinematic events
  • Work closely with the animation lead and supervisor
  • Identify problems, bring fresh ideas to the team and drive creative solutions
  • Meet schedules and complete tasks by the assigned due dates
  • Document and explain the work done clearly and concisely

Requirements and Skills:

  • +3 years of experience working in videogames industry and having experienced the whole cycle of development from concept release
  • A traditional animation and/or art background
  • Experience creating high quality game combat animations, a plus
  • Good sense of weight and timing in your animation performances
  • Good understanding of acting principles and basic camera staging
  • A thorough knowledge of Maya
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
  • Previous experience working with Mo-Bu
  • A positive attitude to work collaboratively in an open team environment, giving feedback and being open to receive and act on constructive criticism
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent self-organization skills and attention to detail

Backend Programmer (remote work)

Tequila Works is looking for a determined Backend Programmer to join the team and help create the best games possible. The successful candidate will be part of the Code team and work alongside other teams such as Design, Art and QA in a dynamic environment where work is driven by enthusiasm and ambition.

He or she will be setting up and maintaining technology to support our games as well as investigating and developing creative solutions to problems regarding new titles.

We are based in Madrid, but currently working remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Game backend implementation and maintenance.
  • Set up IT online Infrastructure provisioning.
  • Architect, design and maintain the microservices required for the game’s needs.
  • Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and appropriateness of all the game code.
  • Manage and deploy cloud environments.
  • Work with databases (both SQL and NoSQL).
  • Execute any testing needed (units, functional, etc.).
  • Ensure software security and reliability.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Degree in computer science, telecommunication or related field.
  • Able to architect, design and implement components, features and systems in backend.
  • Third-party APIs integration experience.
  • Restful API development experience.
  • Knowledge of Java or Node.
  • Previous implication with AWS or Google Cloud environments.
  • Awesome technical insight and a finisher of technical tasks on time.

Desirable:

  • Comfortable in Linux environment and a good knowledge of this platform.

Gameplay Programmer (remote work)

Tequila Works is looking for a Gameplay Programmer with passion for gaming and curiosity about cutting edge technology to join the team. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidiscipline environment implementing gameplay features that meet projects’ design requirements as part of a seasoned code team.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear and structured code inputs (C++), ensuring the quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of all the game code.
  • Develop implementation plans and software according to functional requirements & feature specifications on multiple platforms.
  • Debug and profile code on different game “builds”.
  • Liaise with project leadership to align expectations and workflow on a regular basis.
  • Work effectively with other departments such as Design, Art, Animation and QA to ensure successful product execution.
  • Multitask between projects and teams fluidly.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience working in C++ environments with Unreal Engine.
  • Atleast one shipped PC or Console title.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • Strong C++ skills.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • Understanding of the code performance and memory-usage implications
  • Ability to multitask and flexibly move between projects and teams, providing high quality work with a positive attitude.

Tequila Works is looking for a highly creative and talented 3D Character Artist to join the team. The successful candidate will be involved delivering Tequila Works’ artistic vision in our games. He or she will join a passionate team of seasoned videogame professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Model and texture eye-catching 3D characters according to the game style.
  • Create additional character assets such as accessories, weapons, etc.
  • Work through the visual style, design, and overall look of the game.
  • Make a significant and direct contribution to the creation of 3D art assets.
  • Maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency across your work.
  • Evangelize, present, and communicate art status of owned projects to the larger Tequila Works organization and the Management Team.
  • Collaborate with designers and animators to develop run-time game 3D Data procedures & pipelines.

Requirements / Skills

  • Art-related degree.
  • 3+ years’ experience creating stylized character art for video games.
  • Demonstrated experience working with modern art pipelines.
  • A good sense of anatomy, proportions, stylization, and color.
  • Exceptional visual and technical understanding in sculpting, 3D modeling & texturing (both high- & low-resolution game assets).
  • Proficient with 3DSMax, Maya or Blender

  • Experience implementing and tuning animation timing windows for attacks, blocks, hit reactions, branches, and other actions.
  • Must be able to grasp and work with code-based proprietary tools to implement and troubleshoot assigned characters.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 and Blueprints.
